Happy Valentine's Weekend!

Well, a lovely weekend has come and gone. Thursday we kicked off with going back to school, having some Valentine's day buildup excitement and of course rehashing all the days off ("did you hear there was an ice storm!?"). I had tutoring that afternoon....which strangely enough is one of the best parts of my teaching day. Who would have thought? I was just doing it for the stipend, and because I knew these kiddos really needed it...but it's turned out to be really rewarding. Anyway, I didn't come home until right when Adam was getting home and we zipped on over to church for a lovely Valentine dinner which was a fundraiser for the youth group. It wasn't really romantic at all, but it was nice and we got to sit with some of the other Young Adults who we are trying to get to know better.

We finished off the night with a gift exchange, sort of. Adam delivered the traditional chocolate covered strawberries, which are wonderful. I had a card for him, but his ordered gift still hasn't arrived yet. Amazon can be quite unpredictable sometimes. I had a wonderfullly fuzzy robe from Mom, also delivered by Adam. And his parents sent a blank love scrapbook and a Stout's gift certificate. All great gifts! So, we popped a bottle of strawberry champagne and watched Lost. All in all, not a bad evening at all!

Friday was Valentine party at school (read: chaos with a touch of sugar). It wasn't so bad I guess, but I did have to re-collect some suckers that I found out mid-party had been recalled. That was fun to explain. I just told them, hey, you've got a whole sack of candy, don't complain. A looooong staff meeting after school, and finally a weekend. I made steak au poivre for our romantic supper, and dang if it wasn't good! Yeah, I'm good. A good dinner and an early night.

Weekend was mostly chillin', as usual. Adam's valentine to me was the collector's edition of Gone With the Wind, AND he actually watched it with me all the way through! :) THAT was a good gift. He's a keeper, for sure!!!

So we had a good extended Vday together and it was confirmed, not unexpectedly, that we are very dear to each other. :D Hooray for love!
